Trip in Jan 2015, buy no expire tickets now or wait?

We have our reservation set for GF, January 2015.

Right now we are doing the usual planning for meals but keep coming back to the tickets.

Option 1: We buy tickets from UC which we have never done, biting the bullet and getting 10 day no expire because we know now that our daughter is 3 we will be taking another trip in a few years and ticket prices will never go down.

Option 2: We buy 5 day tickets from Disney when the new prices are released then deal with the future trip/tickets at that time.

We've never done no expire tickets and when we have gone have only just added the tickets to try and keep things simple, now that we want to stay at a nicer hotel and make it a bigger trip we'd like to save where we can even if it is 'investing' in tickets.

Right now the no expire ones are $775, anyone have an idea of how much the prices have moved? The only basis we have is a friend who said their 10 days cost around $500 but they weren't sure when.

We bought 10 day hoppers with no expire in feb 2013 for 639 child and 656 adult. Previously we bought 10 day hoppers with no expire AND water parks in 2008 for about $550 (cannot find receipts). So in a year and a half, they have gone up $120. And in 6 years about 275 depending on how you decide to deduct the price of the water park feature from the 2008 price.

We tend to go to disney for 1-3 days at a time. In fact we still have a few days left on the 2008 tickets but wanted to buy before prices rose again. We also have water park tickets for life at that price. For us this ends up working really well, and the comparable ticket price for us buying 3-4 2 or 3 three day tickets would be nearly double. But I've also read that if you plan to go 5 days, your option two is a good plan.

Consider, though, if you buy the ones with waterpark extras, for an extra ~$50 you get 10 water park tickets which never expire. Myou can use them long after your ten days of parks have expired. That is a good deal.

Have fun.

And an option three would be to buy two sets of 5 day tickets--use one now and save the other for future. Again, if you go 5 days at a time, a good, and perhaps better deal. Unused tickets do not expire until 14 days after first use. So no need to wait to buy them after prices rise.

Thanks,

I didn't even think about that. 2 sets of 5 day hoppers that would expire might be a better way to go!
