Trip/CBR/Dining Review

Just got back. We were there from 1.20-1.25 and had a six day ph pass. CBR was wonderful! We loved this resort. We had a king bed, corner room in Trinidad North, building 33, room 3312 on the first floor. It was great! No complaints about the room or mousekeeping. The resort is quite large, but we were only a five minute walk from Old Port Royal so it was wonderful! Bus service was also good, we did wait about 20 mintues one time for a bus, but all in all the busses weren't a problem at all. We didn't use the pools at all, but they all seemed nice and weren't too crowded. I would recommend CBR for anyone staying at a moderate!

We were on the dining plan, and LOVED IT. As long as Disney offers it we will never go back without it. Our first meal was Friday night at Spoodles. This was by far the best meal we had. We loved it! There were four adults on the dining plan. We had: greek salad, garlic shrimp, grilled lamb kefta, and four cheese flatbread for our starters. YUMMY! We shared and all got to try them. They were all very good. :slurp: For our entrees we had Oak-Fired New York Strip with shrimp and scalops (added at no extra charge), Rigatoni, and Fettuccini Alfredo. All were wonderful. For desert we had the four main ones, most of which were on the dessert platter. All were wonderful there too!

Saturday morning we had early ressies at Crystal Palace and it was great! We had a blast with all the characters and really enjoyed the food. We had Pooh and Tigger waffels and all the rest. The bacon was especially good. All the characters were fun and we got to spend a few minutes with each of them. It was great!

Sunday night we had dinner at Rose and Crown. We got to sit outside and watch Illunimations. We had a great waitress, Kara. She is fabulous! We enjoyed talking with her. We ate: prawn cocktail, fruit and cheese plate, and leek and potato soup. The soup was by far the best appetizer had that night. For dinner we had fish and chips and steak and fish. All were good. We were a little disappointed with the deserts. We tried one of each and they were only ok. (one was similar to spoodles, but spoodles was better.) We decided that what we paid for that night was mainly a front row seat for the fireworks.

Monday night was Boma and we didn't like it. I know many of you in this board love it, but it wasn't our taste I guess. We liked the Zebra Domes, but other than that, we weren't too impressed by the food. Loved the atmosphere though!

Our last meal was supposed to be at Alfredo's, but we changed it at the last minute to Liberty Tree Tavern. We were so happy with the change! We loved Liberty Tree, and being from the south, were so glad to get some sweet tea! :slurp: Had a good time and good food, and the characters were fun too.

The trip itself was great. The weather was perfect. Couldn't have had better weather...no rain! Only a little one morning but it was before we were out and about so no big deal! Crowds were higher on the weekend, almost non-existent on the weekdays. Waited 20 minutes Wednesday for Soarin', got a FP and when we returned to use it, the wait was only 30 mins. Not bad at all. Walked onto everything else. Monday we walked onto Tower and RR twice in a row for both. Very small crowds during the week. We have decided to make mid to late January our new time to go!

Well, I know this has been long. If anyone wants any more specific details, feel free to pm me. We're now planning for next year! We're thinking of going Deluxe, so I'm sure I'll have questions along the way!

So glad you enjoyed Caribbean Beach. That is our favorite overall. And I hear great things about this dining plan, so thanks for adding your thoughts too. Just might be spoemthing to look into. (But we don't do the whole package thing.)
