Wats up,
I'm planning the trip for July 2006.
I need to decide to go to at least one of these disney parks Magic Kingdom,
MGM Studios, or Animal Kingdom.
Also, does anyone have good advice on a hotel that gives military discount.
Last year, we stayed at the Residence Inn and we payed about 99 dollars a night with military discount and the hotel was not as pleasant as before.
Can someone please help me.

 Look into Shades of Green. That is a military resort on WDW property. I don't know too much about it, but there are a few threads discussing its merits, etc.

As for the parks, I hate to exclude any, but MGM is my least favorite and we only do a few things there...usually spending just the morning there before lunch and heading to another park for the evening.

If you can only go to one park, my vote is the Magic Kingdom. It is the most associated with WDW, the Castle, the classic rides, the Dole Whips... what more can you ask for?

I would go to Magic Kingdom also - it's the most fun, and has the most rides. I find Animal Kingdom incredibly boring, but that's because I don't like animals. If you do, it's absolutely stunning. MGM is my second favorite - if you like old movies, Broadway, a couple thrill rides, and good shows, it's the best.

I would also check into Shades of Green. It's on property and the books say it's about $80 a night. Plus you won't need a car - the busses will take you wherever you want to go. Have fun!

Depends really on what kind of rides you want to experience...

If you want thrill rides, MGM has Rock N Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror...

Whereas Magic Kingdom has Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad...

Magic Kingdom's attractions are "tame" by roller coaster enthusiast's standards, but the Rock N Roller Coaster is right up there with some of the rides at Busch Gardens...

In my opinion there is more rides to hit at magic Kingdom. They may not be real thrills but they are classics. Mgm has a lot of shows and good thrill rides. But in the end Magic Kingdom is where it started, so i would definetly spend my day at Magic Kindom. When you get there I suggest heading over to Splash mountain, get a fastpass, ride splash mountain, then go on big thunder mountain, afterwards depending on time with your fastpass maybe you could ride big thunder once more, and then hit splash mountain. Then you can go hit all the other areas like fantasyland and stuff. just a suggestion, thats what I do when I get there.:animwink:
SPLASH MOUNTAIN
You may get wet:sohappy:

You could always hop
Pick the attractions that you most want to see, and look at the time table the parks will be open for that day...and hop around!

Are one day passes less if you dont buy the hopper option...or are they automatically hoppers? thats another thing you may want to look into

You can also buy tickets at Shades of Green that offer a military discount, which should help you decide on your tickets. I'm not sure if you have to stay there to get the discount. But it's worth looking into.
Have a great trip!

Try the Swan and Dolphin if you can't get into Shades of Green. I hear they have great government rates. Thank you for all of your efforts for our country. You are greatly appreciated. :sohappy:

We usually stay at the SOG. Here is the website www.shadesofgreen.org

I think however they have a 3 night minimum. I don't know how much time you have. The room rate is based on your rank. All the info is on the site however. We really like it there. They have the largest rooms around- I think. You can use the SOG buses to get around, and it is in a convenient distance to MK. Infact we will be back there Dec. 1st!!!! Hope this helps.
