Hi

We have been trying to book a 12 night stay splitting it 7 nights at OKW and 5 nights at the Poly. We are encountering a problem with the current UK free dinning offfer. The lady at WDTC I spoke to (although very helpful) explained that we wouldn't get free dining at the Poly as we would only be buying passes for OKW even though those passes are valid for all 12 nights (ie the 14 for the price of 7 UK offer)

This seems a bit strange because if we stayed at OKW for 12 nights we would get free dining for all 12, bearing in mind Disney would get more money if 5 of the days were at the Poly (more expensive!).

Hope this makes sense just wondered if there is a way round this or if anyone else had come up with this problem.

The reason she stated that you would be unable to do it is because you are talking about two different reservations. Your first reservation for OKW is a package deal where you are getting the room and tickets and the free dining is included with your deal. If you try to stay at two different resorts the only way you would be able to get free dining with the second reservation is to get another package which includes room & tickets. You can not get free dining with a room only deal and that is where your problem is as when you check out of the first resort which you book under a package deal the second resort would be a room only reservation as you stated you don't need tickets.

you can buy 1day tickets for everyone and should be able to get free dinning then. If you can swing the tickets for a day its still cheaper than buying 5 days worth of food. plus if you can use the tickets on another trip or if your tickets do not have park hoppers on them then you can use them to got to 2 parks in 1 day.

On our last visit we swapped hotels half way through. We asked about the dining plan and the Disney info given to the Travel Agents states that

"The Dining Plan can not be used when using multiple hotels as the plan will not be be validated for either hotel"

This is almost certainly due to an automated system used when charging the DDP but I'm not really sure.

As far as I know there is no way round this without spending a lot of money.
