Trip Advice Needed

As a new member (from England) this is my first post and I'm hoping that some of you will be able to answer a few questions I have.

I will commence my 5th visit to WDW / Orlando on the 29th May and although I'll plan comprehensively for the trip before I leave the UK I still have some queries:

1. I keep reading mixed feedback regarding the Fastpass system. Can you use your fastpass after your return time has expired e.g. if my return time was 11:00am -12:00pm but I don't return to the ride until 15:00pm can I still use it?

2. Previously if my Fastpass return time was 11:00am-12:00pm, I could obtain another FP at 11:01am - is this still the case?

3. I've read with interest how busy the parks have been recently and I understand this is due to the promotions being offered in the US (3 nights for the price 4 etc). Are these still going and can I expect to see higher than usual attendance levels during the first two weeks of June?

4. I usually arrive early at all the parks but this year, for the first time, I intend to be there at opening time. Are there long queues to get into the parks at this time and what time realistically should I arrive before opening to allow me time to get from the car parks and into the main park itself?

5. Also, I intend to stay until closing time in parks such as MK, Epcot & DHS, can I expect to see vastly reduced wait times in the final hour before closing? I'm hoping that if I wait until just before closing that wait times will be no longer than 20mins (or maybe that's unrealistic?).

6. Finally, is there a definitive list available of all attractions which operate a single rider line?

Thanks in advance for any positive feedback.

Can you use your fastpass after your return time has expired e.g. if my return time was 11:00am -12:00pm but I don't return to the ride until 15:00pm can I still use it? For the most part yes. About the only attraction where a late fast pass will be turned away is Soarin.

2. Previously if my Fastpass return time was 11:00am-12:00pm, I could obtain another FP at 11:01am - is this still the case? Again for the most part yes. If you get a fast pass for much later in the day (ie at Toy Story Midway Mania) then you next fast pass time very well might be before your ride time.

3. I've read with interest how busy the parks have been recently and I understand this is due to the promotions being offered in the US (3 nights for the price 4 etc). Are these still going and can I expect to see higher than usual attendance levels during the first two weeks of June? Yes.

4. I usually arrive early at all the parks but this year, for the first time, I intend to be there at opening time. Are there long queues to get into the parks at this time and what time realistically should I arrive before opening to allow me time to get from the car parks and into the main park itself? It will depend on the park you are at. Getting from the parking lot to the gate takes much longer at Magic Kingdom than at the other 3 parks. I would arrive at least 1 hour before opening at Magic Kingdom an about 30-45 minutes before opening for the other 3 parks.

5. Also, I intend to stay until closing time in parks such as MK, Epcot & DHS, can I expect to see vastly reduced wait times in the final hour before closing? I'm hoping that if I wait until just before closing that wait times will be no longer than 20mins (or maybe that's unrealistic?). For fast pass attractions no. Non fast pass attractions maybe.

6. Finally, is there a definitive list available of all attractions which operate a single rider line?

Thanks in advance for any positive feedback.

Can anyone else offer more feedback?

I'm sure there are plenty of Disney experts out there who can offer advice.

Thanks again

Certainly

As a new member (from England) this is my first post and I'm hoping that some of you will be able to answer a few questions I have.

I will commence my 5th visit to WDW / Orlando on the 29th May and although I'll plan comprehensively for the trip before I leave the UK I still have some queries:

1. I keep reading mixed feedback regarding the Fastpass system. Can you use your fastpass after your return time has expired e.g. if my return time was 11:00am -12:00pm but I don't return to the ride until 15:00pm can I still use it?

Yes and no. There is a good chance that you could, however it is up to the CM at the FP return. By rule you are not supposed to be able to use your fastpass outside of the return window. So it would probably benefit you to plan on returning in the window provided. That way you are certain to ride and not get truned away.

2. Previously if my Fastpass return time was 11:00am-12:00pm, I could obtain another FP at 11:01am - is this still the case?

It seems to me that you can get another fast pass after your return time or 2 hours after you were issued a FP if your return time is much later. Which ever occurs first.

3. I've read with interest how busy the parks have been recently and I understand this is due to the promotions being offered in the US (3 nights for the price 4 etc). Are these still going and can I expect to see higher than usual attendance levels during the first two weeks of June?

Attendance is moderately busy from late April to mid June. The attendance starts to really pick up from Mid June through Labor day. So while it will be busy, it should not be at peak levels.

4. I usually arrive early at all the parks but this year, for the first time, I intend to be there at opening time. Are there long queues to get into the parks at this time and what time realistically should I arrive before opening to allow me time to get from the car parks and into the main park itself?

I would think an hour would be sufficient. Though I would also suggest that if this is important to you and you are going to be staying at a WDW resort. You should take advantage of the Extra magic Hours.

5. Also, I intend to stay until closing time in parks such as MK, Epcot & DHS, can I expect to see vastly reduced wait times in the final hour before closing? I'm hoping that if I wait until just before closing that wait times will be no longer than 20mins (or maybe that's unrealistic?).

Master Yoda said it correctly. As a rule you will probably see a reduction in wait times at non Fass Pass attractions. You may even see them at Fass Pass attractions. If you do take advantage of it, just don't count on it.

6. Finally, is there a definitive list available of all attractions which operate a single rider line?

I know that in Epcot Test Track did. as far a a list though I am sorry I am not aware of one.

Thanks in advance for any positive feedback.

I hope you have a great trip. It sounds like it is going to be pretty busy for you. Don't forget to relax on you vacation.

According to http://www.wdwinfo.com/childswap.htm

"Three attractions offer another option, a separate Single Rider queue. This usually moves faster than the standby line and is a great alternative if you don't have a Fast Pass for that attraction and don't mind riding alone. This is offered at Test Track, Mission:SPACE and Expedition Everest."

http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/misc/singleriderline.asp says:

"Attractions with Single Rider Lines:

Expedition Everest (Animal Kingdom)
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster (Disney-MGM Studios)
Test Track (Epcot)

Attractions Formerly Featuring Single Rider Lines:

Mission: Space- the Single Rider line was removed when the Green Team option was added in May 2006.

Soarin’ - the Single Rider line has not been used since Pre-Opening previews."
