Trick or Treat Indeed

Ok, well first let me say again that our family has been going to disney every year since 1985. Some years we make an extra trip, especially for Halloween, which is our first daughters birthday. This year we decided to do the Halloween trip but with our youngest daughter. We were to leave on saturday the 27th and come back the 31st to RI....With the weather forcast anything but positive we had to make some quick decisions on whether we wanted to go ahead with this trip knowing a few things and not knowing a few things. First we knew we would have no problems getting there that saturday. Orlando forcast was for cloudy. BUT forcast for up north here the few days preceeding our return was miserable. My wifes job ( nurse in Boston) had her going back thursday and they dont take kindly to people not being able to return, huricane or not. Im retired so no problem. Also we were leaving our 2 other kids home with 3 dogs and even though they are in early 20s, we still worried all trip.
We ultimatly decided to go through with this, but again every day worrying what was happening. We were constantly checking airline starting Monday. Tuesday nite the night before we were supposed to leave our flight still had not yet been cancelled but they kept saying keep calling. I went to front desk to try secure room for 4 more nights just in case, because airline was saying yes flight still on but if cancelled you could be looking at next week get back. They were so nice at desk, helping us in whatever way they could. Calling their superiors etc because of what was happening up north. She was able to get us 4 more nights at HURRICANE rate ( like $89....originally $135) and could cancell at last minute if had to.
Bottom line our flight was on time and actually got back to Providence 20 min early.
Couple other notes(trick/treat)..Parade was FANTASTIC...Halloween Night SUPERB!
All 4 days there though WE FROZE!..Was in 60s most time...people going crazy buying sweatshirts etc in stores....Sight of my wife walking down Main St at night in WINTER coat made me sick. Couldnt go near pool..forget that.
Stayed at Art Animation. Place is really nice but I will tell you what..we stayed at building 8 little Mermaid buildings and the trek to food court and busses had to be 1/4 mile...we were closer to Pop Century!! Other than that real nice.
Next...we went to Pecos Bills one evening. All these years and never been, so we said lets try. YIKES.....took our order, now we are waiting, and waiting. Guy comes with tray and we said thats not ours. Then he comes and says sorry but out of corn cob it will take 15 min to cook..do you want something else? We said we will wait. Now 10 min goes by and he comes back and we can see other trays have corn so we know thats ready. This time he says Steak gonna take longer because cooked to order. so we wait....THEN he comes back and says OUT OF VEGGIE BURGERS!!!!!!!!! do we (wife/daughter) want replace with veggie wrap. As he saying this manager comes out and looks at receipt seeing we had been waiting 27 min!!!!!!! She says give me receipt and your card its on us. Hec it came to $59....on top of that she throws 3 chocolate cake desserts on tray for zip ( and they were awsum)....TREAT

glad your trip went smoothly still despite the looming hurricane approaching. i'm sure the time standard for counter service is less than half that, so i'm glad they took care of you and your family to turn a potentially horrible memory of your experience at that restaurant to something of a sweet ending :D
