Treehouse Villas

Hi all, we have made our way to the world several times over the years and finally have the opportunity to stay at the Treehouse Villas. My question is has anyone stayed here before? What are some of your experiences ie. pros/cons, bus stops, pool, how far do you go to refill your mug, etc. Any info will help thanks!

Just bumping the thread -- I'd love to hear some input on this question!

We did sit next to some folks who were staying in a Treehouse Villa in October while on a bus, and chatted about it. Their anecdotal comments were that the villas were, "beautiful and neat -- you really do feel like you're living in the trees." They said they loved how quiet and isolated the treehouse villas were, but the downside was that they thought it "took forever to get anywhere (e.g., the parks)."

This pretty much sums it up. The problem with being quiet and isolated is you are, well.....isolated. You just can't be next to everything, yet in the middle of nowhere at the same time.

If you are the type that goes to the food court every morning or you want to walk into a theme park right from your room, the tree houses are not for you. If you wan't a private, luxury/rustic accommodations with a full kitchen, multiple rooms and a great deal of space then they are a slice of heaven.

The pool at the tree houses is nothing to write home about. It is an unthemed rectangular pool, but you can access the pol at SSR if you want something more Disney like.

About the only real gripe I have about the treehouses is each room only has one parking spot. This is no big deal if you don't have a car, but when you do and your neighbors have 3 it can be a big problem.

Treehouse Villas are great IF you have a car, otherwise you'll be wasting more time trying to get around than its worth. With a car, you'll find yourself driving everywhere -- and I do mean everywhere.

Thanks for all the info. We plan to stay at the Treehouse Villas after our Disney Cruise so the quiet sounds great for relaxing.

We stayed there the week before Christmas. They are quite nice, inside and out, and do indeed have a "remote" feel to them, not unlike the FW cabins.

Transportation without a car wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the worst either. There's a separate bus for the treehouses that takes you to the SSR main stop. I think mid-day it took me about 40 minutes to go from the villa to MK, where I was meeting my family (who drove).

But I would definitely stay there again. :-)

The bus stop is what scares me a little. Is there just one bus stop? Can you walk to SSR?
There are 2 bus stops. One is at the front of the resort and one at the rear. You can walk to SSR, but if I am not mistaken it takes longer to walk to SSR than it would to a bus stop.

You can walk but it takes forever. And that's the problem -- without a car, EVERY time you want to go anywhere you have to wait for the bus at THV to take you to SSR and then wait again for the bus to take you where you want to go -- SSR being a DVC resort runs busses a little less often than any of the other non DVC resorts....so you wait and wait, and then wait again --- upon return you wait, then wait to transfer, and then wait again....It takes twice as long as any other resort. With a car, we even found ourselves driving to SSR just to save time.

Let me also give you a heads up -- while remote, and supposedly relaxing, if you have a villa with a water view, the (Very loud) boats from POR and POFQ pass by every 12 minutes during the day and every 6 minutes during peek hours. Not that relaxing.
