Travelocity mistake!!

I booked my trip through Travelocity and made a huge mistake. I wanted to stay Tuesday through Sunday at Disney but somehow clicked Tuesday through Saturday........I noticed it immediately after clicking and called Travelocity. They wanted to charge me 750.00 to change the reservation! It is through American Airlines. A person at Travelocity suggested when I get to Orlando go to the AA ticket counter and try to change it to Sunday then and it would be beyond Travelocity's control but that means not being sure we can stay until Sunday and not having the room booked. Does anyone know anything I can do? Please, help if you can....I have saved 2 years for this family trip and we could use the extra day....:brick:

I'm really sorry that happened to you, that really does suck.

The only things I can think of and possibly suggest to you is doing a little grunt work. Call American now and see if you can possibly change the tickets over, that I think would be your first step. Because even if you can get the room reserved another day, if you can't get the flight home, it won't matter.

So try calling American and organizing all that first. Thing is, if they DO allow you to change the dates, don't book it. Ask if it can be held, even if just for a 24 hour period. Then have them hold it, and call your hotel and see if they have that extra nyght available. I don't know what hotel you are staying at, but it may be possible.

My parents for example. They booked their stay at Pop Century for April, back in like late December. And just yesterday, my mom called and got two nyghts added on, keeping her same room, with no problem.

So then if the nyght is available at your hotel, book it, and then get back on the phone ASAP with American.

I know it sounds like a lot of aggravating running around, but it seems like the only way it can be done, since Travelocity is SET for good once you hti BOOK IT!

Call your hotel directly and arrange for an extra night. Using a travelocity was your first mistake ;) Most hotels will beat a travel wholesalers website price if you ask them to.

Problem solved.

we have had to change things before with our tickets and rooms, Disney have always had room for us to stay longer, in fact they usually try to make us stay longer each trip lol i only ever had to move rooms once, and it was to a room just down the hall and disney moved all our stuff for us! As for the flight tickets if yyour honest and polite and say you just made a mistake in the first place and if you can get a room which i bet you can!, then just explain to them the situation and ask for them to help (crying usually worked for my sister and mom if things got tuff to change lol. At least you havent lost the tickets my dad lst my flight ticket three years ago in the duty free just before we were about to leave and their was a massive amount of people trying to help us at the airport, eventually they just reprinted the ticket.
