I recently convinced my parents to join DVC. Let's say we wanted to both go to SS for a week getting a grand villa. My wife and I would use our points for say 4 nights and my parents would use their points for 4 more nights. Would we be able to keep the same grand villa for all 8 days or would we need to move half way through the week? I am just wondering if anyine has ever done this???

DVC is very accommodating in most cases, but they cannot guarantee two reservations staying in the same place. Although you could risk it, there is a much easier way.
Simply have them transfer the appropriate number of points for use this year to your account (or you transfer to theirs) and book it under one trip. There is no cost to do this and it (obviously) only affects the current points - not every year.
I do believe you have to fax a confirmation in to finalize it. It can't just be done on the phone.
I did this earlier this year and there wasn't any problems whatsoever.

There is a way to do it. We have done it numerous times- just spilt up the days and call & make 2 different reservations but ask them to loop them together.
