Traveling concierge on the Dream, what do I need to know?

Any tips? Like pre dinner cocktails in the lounge, etc? Leaving in 8 days so let me know what you think!

We did just that in March. We're spoiled now, and can never sail "steerage" again, lol.

But seriously, it's awesome. Happy hour each night. Snacks all day. Private Sun deck. A place to veg after boarding. Fantastic people work the deck/lounge. Very personal.

I cruised concierge on the Dream and absolutely loved it. The staff is wonderful and I second what Tom said. We stopped and grabbed snacks/appetizers and a glass of wine at various times. Happy hour is generally on the private sun deck as is a private reception the day you board.

We're set to sail concierge on the Dream as well. I was curious for thoughts on the best time to arrive. Since we are guaranteed first boarding, should we arrive as early as possible to get more time on the boat? Or would it be best to wait until later and board with everyone else when the crowds have died down?

Can you elaborate about the private reception? Is it only for a certain time or pretty much all afternoon until the sail away party?

We're wondering this too. We're running the 10K Friday morning and are driving to the port. We were thinking about hitting up the MK before we left which would probably put us on the ship between 12 and 1 but by doing that would we be missing out on something?

From what I have read, you wouldn't miss out on anything. I have heard a lot of people prefer to arrive around this time because you can just walk on board without any hassles. The advantage of arriving early is that you obviously get extra time on the boat at a time when it is relatively empty. But the downside is that there will be crowds and potentially long waits.

When it comes time to board, concierge guests are boarded first and have their own check-in. So the waits are minimized over other guests. But you still have to deal with traffic getting to the Port, etc. I'm curious to know how big of a hassle all that is and whether or not people who have sailed concierge feel it is worth it to get that extra time on the ship.

The private reception started around 3 and went until just before dinner if I remember correctly. It was held on the sun deck(weather permitting) and we had appetizers and various alcoholic beverages. It was nice to sit and relax with a glass of wine or 2 before dinner.

The negative to boarding first is all the stuff you'd want to be there to do... Don't open till like 1230/100. Dining arrangements, food, reservations, etc

Next time we'll take a more relaxed pace and aim to be on board about 1200-1230

I read your trip report which is a big part of why I'm second guessing my original plan to arrive as early as possible. I'm leaning towards a leisurely arrival at this point.
