Hi all,

My parents have a flight out of LAX at 10:30 am on a Wednesday. They're staying at GC. What time do you recommend they leave? This is in late June.

Thanks.

I just ran Waze for Wed (it only let me run May 4th) arriving at 9AM. It predicts 40 minutes travel time, but the big worry is some big traffic jam. They're inbound with the work commute crowd, though summers can be lighter. Also, LAX can be nuts in summer with all the families going on vacation. A few times, it's taken me 30 minutes to get around the loop to United(?) AFTER I hit the airport entrance. Things might be somewhat lighter because of Covid, but I would leave NLT 7:30 and bring a book.
If they're tech savvy enough, having an app running (like Waze) that has live traffic will help. There are a few different routes to take if one has a jam.

They're using Super shuttle, so I guess they'll have to go for wherever the dropoff point is for them and then make their way to the Southwest terminal.

Totally understand; I'm also a "get there 2 hours before boarding" person too. 😂
I laugh at that Progressive commercial where people are becoming their parents in the airport. I'm like, yup, that's you guys! 🤣

They have TSA precheck, so that helps, but my dad especially likes to get there and rush to the gate...to wait there. 😂

It looks like Super Shuttle still drops at the terminal. SWA is in the first terminal as you enter LAX, so that will eliminate the worry of getting stuck in a summer traffic jam within LAX.
