Travel Party Split w/Magical Express

My family of three are flying in together on the same flight, but I will need to rent a car for business for the middle part of our trip. Rather than renting for a few days at the Care Car Center or the Dolphin, it is only a few dollars more to rent a car for our entire trip. If I rent the car at MCO and have the two members of my party take Magical Express while I drive the car to the resort, will my luggage go with Magical Express or will I have to pick it up and take it in the car with me. Same question about returning the car on the flight home. Has anyone done this?

If you tag your bags with the ME tags they send in your Mickey Mail (welcome packet), then they will be delivered to your resort hotel. So, yes, in theory you can do just this.

I, however, have not done it.

And as a clarification to englanddg's post, at least one person on the reservation is required to take the DME bus (which sounds like the OP's plan). If you don't have someone take the bus, you run the risk of your baggage being stuck in DME baggage limbo.
