Travel from MLB to Poly

We are flying in to MBL from UK in early June. We have flown to Orlando and Sanford before but not MBL. It seems quite a drive. The options seem to be a fairly direct drive on 192 or a more roundabout route using I95, 528 and I4. The longer route looks a better road but our experiences of I4 have never been good. Does anyone know if there are works planned on either route and which is the better? I would mention that the journey will be the first time I have been behind the wheel of a “left hooker” in two and a half years and I will be at the end of a long day by that point.

Local here. 192 is a very direct route. Closer to the airport, there is less trafic, traffic lights, etc. The closer you get to WDW/Kissimmee, the more gnarly the traffic becomes on 192.

If you take 192 it is a straight shot, but watch the speed limit signs in the rural areas. There tend to be speed traps in the small towns.
