Transportation to Parks question

I have been invited to attend a conference in Irvine. As it happens, I can arrange my schedule to arrive a day early which means.... Mama's taking a solo trip to DL! Shhhh.... don't tell the kid. :D

I've visited the parks many times, but have always stayed at a hotel within walking distance. My question: what's my best option for transportation? Cab? Uber? Pixie dust? I'm really wondering about how I'm going to get back to Irvine late at night when the parks close. Thoughts?

Agree, Uber/Lyft.

You could do the Metrolink Train from Irvine to Anaheim (ARTIC), then take the ART bus to Disneyland to the park, but won't work going back, so you could do the Train up, and Uber/Lyft back. But then, just using Uber/Lyft both ways is faster.

Where's the typical pick-up spot at the resort? The Harbor Blvd. resort bus area? Or is it off-property somewhere?

Man, I feel like such a rural old lady for asking these questions. I don't use a cab/ride share for anything in my life. lol....

And even this may or may not make sense (the train), depending on where in Irvine you're staying.

And EDIT to clarify, I agree to agree about Uber/Lyft. :)
