Transportation to Downtown Disney

Just a quick question.
We are planning on going to the parks the day we get there, but we also have a dining reservation in downtown disney. Is there a bus that goes from the parks directly to downtown disney? Or will we have to go back to our resort and catch a bus there?

As far as I'm aware DTD is reached only from Resorts, not the parks

Suggestion: This depends on where you are staying, but if you are at Epcot, DHS, or DAK the 1st day, go to one of the hotels that is in that area, rather than an MK hotel. This will be faster.

Up until 2003 their use to be busses that did go from the park to DTD..You now have to transfer to a resort to get to the parks..

Suggestion: This depends on where you are staying, but if you are at Epcot, DHS, or DAK the 1st day, go to one of the hotels that is in that area, rather than an MK hotel. This will be faster.

Thanks! We'll probably go to Epcot then and catch a bus from one of their hotels.

As @2001DISNEYLIFE suggested, you should go to a resort nearest the park you are in rather than taking a bus back to your own resort and transferring to a DTD bus.

If you are at MK ~ walk or take the monorail to the Contemporary, and catch at DTD bus from there.

If you are at Epcot ~
World Showcase ~ exit out the International Gateway and walk to Beach Club. Walk through the lobby and out the front door to the bus stop and wait for a DTD bus
Future World ~ exit the front of the park and take the bus to Port Orleans. Disembark at French Quarter. You can either wait for the DTD bus here, or you can walk through the resort lobby and out to the boat dock and take a lovely boat ride to DTD. The ongoing road construction around DTD makes the boat ride very appealing!

If you are at DHS ~ take the bus to Port Orleans and follow directions above

If you are at AK ~ take the bus to AKL and catch a DTD bus.
