I will be at Disneyworld in September. The parks all have early closing. From what I read transportation closes 1/2 hour after park closing. Most of my dinner reservations are after hours. For example the Hoop dee doo reveue is at 9:00 p.m. If the transportation is down 1/2 hour after parks close how do I get back to my hotel. POR ???:veryconfu

The Hoop dee doo is at Winderness and the buses still run between the resorts and downtown disney.

Your journey for PO:RS is something like this.

PO:RS -> DTD
DTD -> Fort Winderness Car Park
Fort Winderness Car Park -> across the FW resort to the Hoop Dee Doo

(If memory serves)

YES! You have to take 3 buses!!!

On the way back you have to do the same thing in reverse but the buses run up until about midnight I think.

Disney World not Land ;)

And as far as I know transportation runs for an hour after park closing...and there should be transportation available for you...Disney doesn't like to leave theire guests stranded. :)

Thanks for the information
One more question
Will the buses still run if I have dinner reservations in one of the parks after they close? Will those buses still run until midnight?
I dont want to get stuck with no way home with 3 kids.

If you have reservations in a park after closing time you don't need to worry...transportation runs for long after closing. You won't end up stranded....I swear! :)

One other thing to note, if you have a car then you can avoid a lot of bus journeys betwee PO:RS and FW.

The back entrance road to FW, which is a guest entrance is just round the corner from the PO:RS entrance, however it isn't signposted that way...

If you turn right out of PO:RS and then head down the road and turn left then you come up on the guest back entrance to Fort Wilderness.

For some reason if you follow the purple resort signs you end up taking a 5 mile detour to get there via the entrance to Magic Kingdom???

It seems that way with a lot of the Resort signage, I guess it is there way of controling traffic flow???

There is a security check point along that road. Will they let you through or just check to see that you're staying at a WDW resort and let you through? Just wondering since we always use busses.

As long as you have a Disney Resort Id you can pass through the check point.

the WDW resort IDs are generic. They don't know what resort you are staying at anyway (they could if they scanned them, but I know they don't; that would hold up traffic)

I seem to remember a bus running to PO-R that picked up for the Hoop Dee Doo when I was there in September and also Early December. You might want to check with guest services to see if they still run.

A bus picking up at PO-R would be great. I am driving my family to Disney World from Pennsylvania. So we could drive to the hoop dee doo. But, the buses are so convenient. Plus, I heard the beer at hoop dee doo is free. I dont want to drive around after i put back a few. :hammer:

Thanks for everyones help

buses to DTD run till about 3am (my guess since PI closes at 2am).

The first 4 #s on your resort ID card (the number at the very bottom of the card) tells where your staying, each resort has its own number.... :animwink: so if they really wanted to, they could tell where your staying in a matter of mins..

just be truthful to the guards, and smile, dont give them a hard time...

When I was there in 93 my resort ID/Roomkey/Charge card was printed with the CBR logo whitch I was staying at. Did they eliminate the resort name on the resort IDs??

Okay, here's how it goes...

Bus transportation (as well as Monorails... but NOT boats) will run until the park itself is clear of all guests. This means, if there is one family in there taking thier merry time, and dilly dallying for 3 hours after the park closes... we continue to run.

Boat transportation will run 45-60 mins after the park closes.

As for Resort to Resort transportation for the Hoop Dee Doo, you can always use Downtown Disney. However, if the MK is open, go to the Magic Kingdom, and catch the boat to Fort Wilderness from there. After the HDD... you'll have to go to Downtown Disney. Take an internal bus (any color that says OUTPOST) to the Outpost, and catch the DTD bus from there.
