Transportation from Epcot to Airport?

Hi WDW-Magic Forum members!

I've got another somewhat odd question for you---we're going to be at WDW the last week of June, and have an odd situation where one of the members of our party (my husband) has to go back home early (on Saturday) and has to fly home. The rest of us are going to drive (we're staying off property), and we all plan to be at Epcot the day my husband has to head back early. My question is this---what would be the best way for him to get from Epcot to the airport (so that someone doesn't have to leave Epcot to drive him there)? He has to fly out about 6:30 in the afternoon. Thanks for any and all help!

Have a great day!

If you are staying on property, he could take the Mears shuttle from your resort. He may be able to do it from any resort as long as he has reserved a pickup from a resort???

He could also take a cab. I'd recommend this. It will probally be faster. I'm not sure about the cost of a cab compared to a one way ticket on Mears. I know cabs can be caught at the TTC, but am not sure about Epcot, so he may have to take the Monorail to the TTC and catch a cab from there. I think cabs will also pick people up at resorts.

Taking the Mears Shuttle would be a lot cheaper than a cab, ($15 versus like $50 or so) but it would take a bit longer. And if you give them a call, I think they can pick you up from Epcot itself... (If not... they can pick you up from the Boardwalk, which is just outside of the World Showcase... 5 min walk) They do require I think at least 24hrs prior notice.

Cabs can be caught at the front entrance of Epcot... right by the first set of Bus stops. If you do decide to take one of those cabs, though... I highly recommend using the seatbelt.

100th post !!!!!!!

As your husband doesn't have to be at the airport until late afternoon suggest you call in at guest relations when you arrive at EPCOT, ask their advice and then book your transport accordingly.
