Hello everyone, We are heading down Sept 30. I am trying to decide if we (4 adults 1 child) should take ME or get a town car service to WL. In the past, before ME, my husband and I took town car and liked it. I am wondering which would be faster. Are the lines for ME long? HOw long does it take to get to the hotel? Lots of stops along the way? We will arrive Around 12:30. At first I was thinking town car because it would be nice to load up on a few snacks /water/ really wanted to get gallon of milk but now thinking it may go bad before we get a room. How early does ME head back to the airport for trip home? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Michele

we used it in May. the lines were long for the Pop Century but the wait time was no more then 5 or so minutes as there are alot of buses. The ride was nicce cause they play a video about the service with all the disney characters in it (my 2 1/2 yrs old loved it) The only downside is that it took close to 4 hours before our luggage arrived so make sure you have a change of clothes and other necessities.

When we stayed at VWL in late April, we waited probably 15 minutes for DME.... once my wife got thru the huge queue (probably 20-30 minutes) to get our tickets. Once on the bus, we went directly to WL, no stops. Our luggage, however, didn't show up until 6 hours after we landed. That is our only real frustration with the DME service.

It will most likely be faster, overall, if you take a town car to WL. This is based on the assumption that you will not have to wait very long either in line or to get a car.

Generally the Pop Bus stops at AKL after Pop when we went. I assume that you have the free dining plan with the trip too, so you could always use your snack option for milk in the foodcourt. Also with the dining plan you will be eating quite a bit, so don't worry about extra snacks. You could always bring them from home, it would be cheaper. The price of the towncar will far outweigh the price of a gallon of milk in the hotel gift shop. Or even order the food/snacks from a local supermarket and have it delivered to the hotel. You can order from Goodings website, I think it is a minimum of $50 and $10 delivery charge.

ME works just fine, from getting off the plane to the resort is it about 1 hour and best of all, the luggage is taken to the hotel for you. I'm sure with a little one you will have enough to carry without the luggage. If you get a towncar you will have to collect and take your luggage with you, you cannot use the luggage service.

The fact that your luggage arrives in your room a couple hours after you do isn't a problem if you know about it. And since the luggage gets delivered to the inside of your room whether you are in there or not, there is no reason to sit around and wait for it.

So if you know your luggage arrives a few hours after you do, there's no problem. I first used DME on May 8, 2005, its 4th day of operation. Our luggage arrived 3.5 hours after we did. I don't know EXACTLY when it arrived in our room because my wife and my 2 ore-schoolers and I were in the pool enjoying the start of our vacation. We had what we needed in our carry-ons, which is a smart way to travel no matter where you fly just in case the AIRLINE delays your luggage.

Think of it in the same way that you think of eating at a table-service restaurant. You don't walk in and expect to get fed immediately. You know there is a built in time lag in terms of waiting to be seated, waiting for your menus, waiting for the server to take your order, then waiting for the food to arrive at your table. All of that could take 30 minutes. But if you didn't know there was that time lag, and you didn't have food within 30 SECONDS of when you walked in, you'd call that a disadvantage or a downside to dining there. In that case, there was no downside at all. You know what to expect so you don't see the 30 minute wait for your food as a problem, you see it as just the way it's done, KWIM?
