Transportation between Hotels

Hello all:
We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside at the end of July. We plan to have dinner one night at the Whispering Canyons restaurant at the Wilderness Lodge. What is our best option for getting there? Is there a bus that goes between the various resorts, should we just drive over, or do we take the bus to one of the parks and transfer to the Wilderness Lodge?

Thanks,
Kevin

Actually you have several options:

you can take your own car or

unfortunatly there are no busses that go from resort to resort so

you can take your resort bus to any park and then transfer to the bus going to wilderness lodge and then vice versa to get back. You can also do this with busses going to and from downtown disney and the downtown disney busses go to about 2 am whereas the park busses only go to about 1 to 2 hours after the park closes....this is a good option if you plan on drinking

also whispering canyons is a great resturant you will love it......you should also try the wilderness lodge hot tub it is really nice........hope you have a good time

If you have the car...USE IT!!!

It will save you a ton of time. If not try to get to the Magic Kingdom from your resort. Then take the boat to the Wilderness Lodge. The only problem then is you have to be sure to get back to a theme park before they close so you can get back to your resort, otherwise cab fare will cost you.

Another option for you since you're staying at Port Orleans is take the boat into Downtown Disney and then take the bus to Wilderness Lodge. We did some resort hopping last week and we decided after checking out PO to take the boat back to Downtown Disney. It was a very pleasant and relaxing ride.
Just a thought. (Only if you are on a very relaxed schedule - it takes about 20 minutes)

I think everyone else pretty much summed things up...

For resort hopping... if you have a car, by all means, use it...

However, if you don't feel like driving, or if you're already going to be at a Disney park... feel free to use our transportation system.

To go from resort to resort, you need to connect at a "Hub" location... Hubs would be, MK, Epcot, Studios, DAK, and DTD. Once you get to any of these hubs, you can connect to any Disney resort via Bus, Boat, or Monorail.

From Port Orleans, hop on a Magic Kingdom bus, and then catch a boat over to Wilderness Lodge... Busses will continue to run 1hr after the park closes, specifically for those travelling for dinner reservations... and often times, if the park has closed, and you're the only ones on board, and if the driver is able, they will take you directly there (at least... that's what I do)... Of course, sometimes the driver will be unable to take you directly there, if they're on a tight schedule...

For returning, simply catch a Downtown Disney bus, and from there a Port Orleans bus, or the Sassagoula Riverboat back to Port Orleans.
