Trains from Southampton to Disneyland Paris

My partner and I are scheduled to arrive into Southampton on the Queen Mary 2 on October 25th. We plan to go to Disneyland Paris that same day. We're thinking of taking the train from Southampton to London, then the Eurostar to Lille, then the TGV to Marne La Vallee (Disneyland Paris).

Can anyone give any recommendations of any better/faster/easier route? Any better time when to reserve and purchase this? Are these trains usually on time or should we get changeable tickets in case anything is late?

Thanks!

visit www.flybe.com. Flights from Southampton Airport to Charles de Gaulle, then use the shuttle bus (approx every 45mins) to the resort for €15 - www.vea.fr. Flybe flights depart at 07:00 or 17:55 to Paris, and looking on their site today cost £39.99 including all taxes for the evening flight one way per person.

Much quicker, cheaper and easier than the train!

The trains aren't reliable???

British trains run late - the timetable is only a guide :ROFLOL: Our trains have been cancelled in the past because of "leaves on the line" - I kid you not.

Seriously, if you want to get someone on time then avoid the rail network

In fairness to the Eurostar service, when we went to DLRP in April it was to the second punctual at both ends, and also most of the time I've used the UK rail network its been pretty good too.

It is not perfect, but they are starting to get their act together. My concern would be getting a train from Southampton to London, travelling across London, then getting another train leaves a lot of variables - much can go wrong!

Fortunately, the train arrives at Waterloo station and departs from Waterloo as well.

I'd still go Flybe. Will be cheaper too, and you can spend the day in Southampton perhaps first if you disembark from QM2 early in the day.

FlyBE does come out cheaper, but they have limits on luggage and they arrive into CDG pretty late. Thanks for the idea, though.

you can get a train from southampton to gatwick airport and will have a whole plethora of flights avaliable. However most have a 20kg - 25kg weight limit.

Eurostar is probably the wiser choice!
