I'm so excited to learn that Disney offers very part-time seasonal work. I would love to work there for one week a year! What type of training is offered to new part-timers/seasonal employees? Are you paid for your time during the training?

You would receive the same type of training as any CM (Traditions, then whatever park/resort-specific introduction, then role-specific training and finally OJT). I stayed seasonal after my CP ended, so I didn't need any training, but you would receive it as any new CM would when they start out. Yes, you do get paid for your time!

I wouldn't count on getting anything glamorous, especially in regards to something like driving a monorail or operating Test Track, if only for the fact that those types of roles require a lot of OJT and you need to be checked out to ensure your performance is up to snuff. If you're only working one week a year, expect to do QSF, merch, housekeeping, something like that. There's a bunch of people at our location that only work a couple days a week, or a couple days a year and it works out fine for them.

Good luck!

Depends where you work or what role you have.

With merchandise at Epcot for example, you'll need Traditions (1 day), Merchantainment (1 day), Discovery Day (1 day but you can work the same day), OJT (2 days on average) then you're on your own.

As far as I know, you can't get hired directly into a seasonal role - you have to have been with the company for a certain amount of time in order to do so. Perhaps the story is different for Quick Service or Custodial roles which are low in numbers.
