Trail's End Restaurant

Hey everyone! I'm going to be headed with my family to WDW for Thanksgiving week. We will be travelling by car and will arrive on Thanksgiving Thursday afternoon. Because of the late afternoon arrival we will not be spending a day at the park, but still wanted a Disney Thanksgiving dinner. Thus, we booked a Thanksgiving dinner reservation for the Trail's End Restaurant at 8:00 that evening. However, we have never been to this restaurant before and I read elsewhere that it can be somewhat of a hassle to reach it. We are staying off-property so will be driving in, but I have read there is no direct access to the restaurant by car. I would appreciate any suggestions and information on how to best get to the restaurant, and an estimation of how much time it takes to arrive there.

Getting there is easy. You will park at the parking lot in front of the campground and take the internal bus to Pioneer Hall. Any of the three bus routes will get you there so I just take the first internal bus that arrives ,but if you have a choice, the orange route is the shortest. Trails End is one of the few hidden gems left in WDW. It is the lowest priced buffet on property and has great food. We never hesitate to eat there.

If you can, I would recommend taking the purple route back at the end of the evening. This route borders the forest and deer are a common site along the road. If you feel real adventurous I would walk back along that route.

as pp stated internal bus from parking lot and the same back to you car. based on your ressie time, bus back could be a little crowded if it is at MK closing, not sure of closing time. internal bus will stop at the loops that others need tp get to their site.

I would definitely recommend taking the time before or after dinner to walk around the campsites nearest the restaurant as the are beautifully decorated for the holidays - it is worth it!!

. I just had a look at the menu here as we're hoping our next stay will be at WL. Anyway,I noticed they do carry outs but surely the "giddy up and go " 10 pieces of fried chicken is more than 1 dining credit?;)

I would think so. I do not know for sure but I would assume that it follows the same rule as the pizzas at the All Stars where they cost 2 quick service credits.

We have lunch time reservations for there on Thanksgiving, they are still doing the buffet at lunch as well right? I know normally it is a menu table service for lunch time, but last year for Thanksgiving it was a buffet all day.

I second the recommendation taking some time before or after dinner to enjoy the resort. It's very relaxing atmosphere and beautiful grounds to walk. Our family always goes to Trails End at least twice on a visit.
