Trails End Buffet...What'd you think?

We are leaving for the World next week and we're thinking about trying the Trails End Buffet. Recent reviews look pretty good. If you've tried it, what'd you think?

We tried it for lunch a few years ago and did not leave hungry nor disappointed. The service was wonderful and it was just a laid-back, relaxing meal. Since you have read reviews you have probably also seen a copy of the menu, so you know what to expect.

Lower price buffet with good food and atmosphere. We usually do a breakfast and dinner there throughout the course of each visit we take.

If you are paying cash (not using the dining plan) this is by far the best value on WDW property. And the food is delicious! Lots of variety for both breakfast and dinner, you won't leave hungry.

Be aware that the buffet is breakfast and dinner only; lunch is a single entree from a menu.

We never miss it for dinner! The food is not gourmet, but it is well-prepared and tasty. Service is excellent. Ambience is laid-back. And there is something for everyone! It is fun to lounge on the rocking chairs out front before or after your meal. The area gets busy with folks around the "show times" for HDDR, which is right next door. I would make an ADR because I have noticed it is getting busier each time we go.

What is the best way to get from DHS to Trails End? Just made ressies for dinner next Wednesday at 6:25p based on comments in this thread and reviews. How much time should we allow? Thanks.

We find it easiest to go to MK and get on the boat that goes to Ft. Wilderness. It's the second stop.

We love Trail's End, we went two times last year and the service was outstanding, food is not fancy but always fresh and well attended. I find it extremely relaxing atmosphere and we love to walk around after dinner as the area always seems to quiet. Love it and yes my husband is so jealous you are going next week.

This has always been one of my favorite places and try to eat here every trip. I remember before the dining plan this place was always empty and was almost like a secret place no one knew about. I highly recommend here. Always leave stuffed

Usually get it for breakfast, not disappointed at all when we do. We did a dinner one time, it was interesting because it had everything you could get from hoop dee doo.

Love the atmosphere here.. food is good - not fancy or gourmet...home style.. which is a good change sometimes!
