Welcome to WDWMagic!!!!

1. Do you remember your Traditions Teachers?
Not at all.

2. What year did you take Traditions?
Fall 2000

3. What did you like best about the class?
Past, and a bit of present. It was all fun until we got into the legal stuff. That REALLY killed it for me!!! I forgot this individual's name but we saw this video where he lectured about the legal system and stuff for 45 minutes. It really bit the big one. The next day my friends got to see the shortened version-I was so ed. He would rock back and forth throughout the entire film-it drove me crazy!!!!!:hammer:

4. Do you have any funny class stories?
The ice breakers and just having fun learning about disney and such.

They have a "legal" video now??? What is that about? Do they still show the video where you fly over WDW?

The legal mumbo jumbo is part of the "present" section of the course. It was so boring that I droned it out. I was getting dizzy watching to him. :dazzle:
As for the other video, I believe I saw it and loved every minute of it. You get to see all the parks and resorts. Very cool!

Hyperion93: It's an orientation course for all cast members. It's where you learn the basics of Disney and company policies. It's divided in three section The past, present, and future of the company. You learn different things about the company and the company 'ethics'...

(but remember this info is coming from someone who attended the course in fall 2000)

be myself of course... lol.

actually, my group was a DRE (not WDW) group, consisting mainly of CM's who had quit and returned, so we basically frustrated the facilitator since we knew more about the company and policies than she did...

btw-where in Grosse Pointe are you from?

Now traditions is only a day long.. so they can't quit.. though they may be tempted to walk out during the lunch break.

I much prefered Casting and Discovery Day.

The first rule of Discovery Day: You don't tell anyone about the Discovery Day secret. Oo.. loved it..

Casting is just the process of actually getting hired. I found it cute and very Alice in Wonderland-esque.

The first movies you watch the the "theater" complete with red velvet curtains. The oversized chairs with funny shapes in the waiting room, the bridges over the walkways to get to and from places. The doors painted overtop of double doors that split down the middle to reveal large rooms. The maze of the building itself. I found it all quite impressive.

Discovery Day is something Epcot does. A tour of the park essentially - I had lots of fun.

(after traditions) Discovery day at Epcot is the GREATEST!!!!! It's a park tour. They help you get oriented to the park so you can help guests out if they ever have any questions. That's about it. I know I really enjoyed mine!!!! (although i never got a photo of it  )

I think my guide's name was Jeff.

I don't remember to much. I was too busy talking to all the girls in my group. I got all the hotties in mine. :sohappy:

Rob, PM and tell me what the secret is. I might know it, but I can't think of anything right now.

Brent, if you don´t know what the secret of Discovery Day is, you didn´t have Discovery Day! :animwink:

In September 98, I had DD, and Traditions and also the Hidden Treasures of WSC in Epcot. I don´t remember anything of Traditions! I know I collected a lot of figurines for being a nerd! lol

Our trainning for the Fellowship Ambassador Program also included an extensive Guest Relations trainning that included four days of going around parks and resorts (in professional attire!!)...very tiring but a lot of fun.

I remember I didn´t get to wear my costume until the first week of October when I had arrived on September 13th! All those previous days were spent in trainning only to begin working in a one year position! Then we had two mandatory seminars to attend each month.

I repeated Discovery Day and Guest Relations trainning again in September 99 when I extended my contract and took them again with the new group of Ambassadors! :D
