Toyota creating an EPCOT-like city

See if this sounds familiar to anyone who's seen the Florida Project film about EPCOT the city plan:

Toyota will extend an open invitation to collaborate with other commercial and academic partners and invite interested scientists and researchers from around the world to come work on their own projects in this one-of-a-kind, real-world incubator.


“We welcome all those inspired to improve the way we live in the future, to take advantage of this unique research ecosystem and join us in our quest to create an ever-better way of life and mobility for all,” said Akio Toyoda, president, Toyota Motor Corporation.

I think this is VERY exciting!!

LAS VEGAS (January 6, 2020) – Today at CES, Toyota revealed plans to build a prototype “city” of the future on a 175-acre site at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan.

I am really interested to see where this goes. I don't know what else to say really, I know it can either go really well or really bad ,not city burning down bad, just underwhelming I guess.

They're building in Japan, it will be fine. They have high standards for everything.

Forgot to mention that where Toyota is headquartered (Called Toyota City), they build their own houses that you can buy. They're expensive, but really nice.

Disney doesn't even own Celebration anymore...no chance they're going to do something like this (and Celebration is a completely different type of community)
