Toy Story 3 Cancelled

According to a poster at Animation Nation, Catmull and Lasseter "announced to Feature Animation employees [Tuesday] that the 'Toy Story 3' production will end effectively [Tuesday]. They said that sequels should only be made if there is a really great story that demands it, and should be the domain of those who created the original film."


Although I personally never had a doubt..Lasseter "gets it".

Thank god. Toy Story 3 had "disaster" written all over it. The whole plot Buzz being recalled was extremely stupid and simple minded. Hanks and Allen wouldn't have returned voice duties, and it wouldn't have the Pixar touch! Man, what were they thinking?! Thank god its cancelled.

I had a feeling that whole stupid thing was just a ploy to get Pixar coming back to Disney. Worked like a charm though...

I think they are just going to retool it, now that Pixar can run it again...

I think I remember hearing that Toy Story 2 was doomed for a direct to video release if not for the action dedicated employee who championed the drive for a theatrical release with the original voices and an improved story line. That employee's reward. . . for Lassiter to step in near the end and assume credit, because Lord know's, if Lassiter's name is not attached, it will not be a success.:brick:
