My wife and I will be in the parks this Friday through next Tuesday. Will The ToT be open??? :confused: I saw where there would be a "soft opening" on the 9th. Does this mean it won't be open other than that? It is my favorite attraction! I don't want to miss it! I won't be back for several years!!! :(

It is currently sheduled for previews on the 9th December and onwards. Which means that hopefully you will get to ride it. However, with it being a preview, there are no guarantees, so dont set yourself up as it being a certainty, and then be dissapointed. I hope you get to ride! It has been a few weeks since I was at MGM
I am a little confused though, I figured TOT4 would take a long time to make. I guess not if it's opening on the 9th.

Don't they just have to enter the new profile into a computer or something and just use it? I thought that was what they did for the Fear Every Drop thing. Maby not though.

That's right. These profiles have been ready for over a year. All they have to do is tell the computer to run them.

So, the ToT is open? I thought by what I was reading that it wasn't open except when the "soft opening" was going on. Is it operating a normal schedule except for when they are previewing the new profiles?

I'm not sure about the status of the seat belts, but the ride shouldn't have to be closed at any time during the soft opening/official switchover. Remember, all the physical changes to the ride (except possibly the seat belts) are done. It's all up to the software now.

Also remember that the ride has two sides that can run independently of one another, so any changes that would require the ride to shut down during the day (which is a doubtful situation to begin with) would almost definitely be done to only one side of the ride at a time. The other side could be kept open.

Please set me straight!!!!! I will be there the 6th-13th. Will the soft opening of the new drops only be on Dec 9th, or will they be from the 9th till the official debut on 12/31?????:confused: :confused:

Steve I am a bit confused, In the press release on ToT they are still calling the park Disney-MGM studios instead of just The Disney studios. whats going on with the name change officially?

I cannot go on Monday, but I am going to plan on riding it the weekend of the 14th. I will let you all know how it goes, for once I will ride it without knowing exactly what will happen!
