Interesting piece of news--while Walt Disney World is suffering from lack of attendance, and cutting hours across the board in its parks, the Disneyland Resort has booked all 2243 of its rooms the week I go, March 15-20. Apparently, people are starting to see the Disneyland Resort as more of a tourist destination. Perhaps the new priviledge of having unlimited Fastpasses is causing people to book on property...I just got my park tickets/unlimited fastpass a couple days ago in the mail!:D I'm psyched!

Well, I agree that Disneyland is seeming more like a Destination now, I'm going for the 50th (I'm sure it will be crowded). Anyway I don't think people on the East coast and beyond know all the smaller details like unlimited fastpass and things like that. I believe it's mainly due to the fact that DCA is starting to shape up a bit and that Disneyland now has a DD. Plus there are many other interest points throughout San Diego and LA. I just think the status of "the Disneyland Resort" is starting to take effect, and since DL is fueled alot more by American Guests, the increase makes even more sense to me.

WDW needs more attractions to pull people in! I mean ... the MK has less than 30 attractions, about three dozen shops and costs $50 to get in. All this while we get a new Winnie the Pooh ride (Lackluster, but it's still a new ride), may get the Submarine Voyage back, and more proposed attractions in Tomorrowland.
Sure, part of the attendance at WDW being down is due to 9/11 and the economy. But it doesn't take rocket science to figure out what'll pull customers in.
And DCA is still suffering a lot. Half of its visitors are AP's. People are already sick of Bug's Land

Well, I actually went to Disney's California Adventure and Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom the past six days, and can tell you that neither parks were hurting AT ALL. They were both packed for the entire week, with insane lines for Aladdin, Soarin' Fastpasses selling out by 1 pm with two hour lines, Screamin' seeing lines of about one hour, one hour waits for Mulholland Madness, same for Grizzly River Run. The park was PACKED--thank God for my unlimited Fastpass; I never had to wait in a line over 20 minutes the entire time, and still got to ride Screamin' 7x, Soarin' and Indy 5x, etc...did I mention Disney's California Adventure is not my favorite park? You can't beat the music...
