Tour Groups: No Discounts offered

I know there's been a lot of talk about tour groups lately and about people wanting Disney to get rid of them...

But I just wanted to make sure everyone in those discussions knows there is no discount offered to tour groups. They pay full gate price on tickets. The advantage to booking as a group is that they can lock in current ticket pricing AND can have a single person pick up tickets, rather than having everyone stand in line individually.

So essentially, even if group ticketing was discontinued, these groups would still purchase tickets, since they weren't being offered a discount in the first place.

And for those of you that require verification on your own, you can call 407-828-3200 Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM to verify (Group Ticketing/Catering/Conventions Line).

Interesting, thanks for that. I was actually talking to someone about that the other day and confess that it makes me feel a bit better about paying for my own vacation. I often feel I'm missing something that others know.

Also, I think I shot something out my nose onto my keyboard (ew!) after reading your disclaimer. Good stuff.:ROFLOL:

I think MOST people had problems with their over the line behavior at the parks and resorts, regardless of whether they paid 1/2 price, full price or got in for free.

Maybe they should charge double for groups that have caused problems in the past.:p

No, but they could make a rule that that they would have to pay more if they are going to assemble in large groups.

Kinda like having a parade/assembly permit in your city/town.

That's the second best suggestion I've ever seen about the large tour groups, and by far the most practical.

Gold star for today!

I know it wouldn't and can't happen.. but I think they definately should do something about it. Just making one my usual comments.

At the very least Disney should ban people from going around in large groups - there's no good reason for it really, they're never so young that they need constant supervision (and even with supervision they still do whatever the hell they want!) They could easily just arrange a time & place for them all to meet again, maybe mid-day and then when they're going home - logical! :brick:

Do they get a room discount?
Can at times. A block of 10 or more rooms is considered a leisure group and has no set rates, but is rather done on a contracted basis. Sometimes there's a small discount, sometimes a large one, and sometimes none at all. Just depends on how many rooms and the current rooming trends.
