Tour book on Kindle / iPad

Does anyone have experience using a tour book like The Unofficial Guide as an eBook on their Kindle or iPad? This isn't even a Disney-specific question, but I'm going to order some guides for upcoming family vacations (both Disney and non) and I'd love feedback on whether it's a hassle not to have the book in physical form. I love digital books for a novel or something I'm going to read cover-to-cover, but is it more of a pain than it's worth when you're talking about content that you're going to want to flip back and forth from various sections and not read straight through?

We do this all the time on an iphone w' the kindle app. I digitize pretty much everything and store it on the cloud for instant retrieval wherever (maps, guidbooks (kindle or library), reservations, receipts, etc).

In the hotel we have the tablet(s) and we will review things on the bigger screen there, for the next day plan. All documents are on all devices the way I have everything set up. I don't bring tablets into the park because I like to travel very light. But if you have a bag or stroller already, why not?

My only protip is to bring along one or two (depending on milliamps) of those lithium ion chargers to keep up with the added drain of using your guidebook along with everything else on your phone. ...also if you have a teenager don't let them use your portable charger even for 'just a sec'. A 2400 milliamp will charge a standard smartphone to 60%-80% charge. ...surprisingly quickly (I want to say 30ish minutes, but didn't time it).

I'm on a Note 4 so no issues with battery life.
