Geesh, this IS bad..

Rain is drifting away... which means we could get a lot of heating over Central FLA (Disney) ... which means.. BAD :brick:

I just got back from running a few errands and heard they had a possible twister over east central Ocesola County. Why do I have a feeling thats not the last one ethier.

Just out of curiosity, what does one do in Florida with no basement to go to if a tornado is coming toward your house? It's clearing up in the Waterford Lakes area of Orlando(Orange County).

Found this on a tornado preparedness website:

If you have no basement, choose an inside wall away from windows and sit flat against it. Central halls, bathrooms, and closets are good choices. Get under heavy furniture, if possible, to protect yourself from flying glass and debris. Then, stay away from windows. Keep tuned to a battery-powered radio for latest weather information.

Also keep in mind Fl does not normally get the huge F3 to 5 tornado's you see out in Tornado alley they are generally F1 or 2. Now that can still be deadly but they are generally smaller in size and do less damage.

Hope you guys do not get any bad weather. It has been raining all day here. It's that time of the year for us in the south though, tornado season starts in March, well it does here in Alabama.

I have known what to do in these cases since I was old enough to remember. They will tell you, think low and think small.

Be safe you guys. :)

Go to a central room away from windows. I've lived in Florida for most of my life and have never seen a tornado, but I still think it's the #3 in the country for tornadoes.

I didn't hear one rumble of thunder today. Luckilly, the severe weather stayed south of Disney (but that's unfortunate for everyone near the Cape). Hope everyone in Brevard and south Osceola are doing OK...

for locals down here turn on local 13 news they are doing a live broadcast from Palm bay where a tornado damaged multiple homes ripping the entire roof shingles and plywood right off. Only one person injured from news reports. Right now in my 3rd floor apartment the winds outside are quite strong.

EDIT:
tornado warning now in effect in Ocesola county and I guess brevard is not far behind there is radar indications of a twister around Yehaw Junction.
