laundry bag
favorite clothes detergent (unless you want to spend a dollar on something you may not like. I took a ziplock with those little pod thingies you just throw in)
extra camera card, just in case
you mentioned money, but small bills are handy for tips
I threw in a roll of paper towels on our last cruise

I have just recently purchased the detergent that is in load pods...trying to get my 11yr to wash his own clothes. he can't reach the regular detergent so I thought these would work. Still a work in progress...:)

Hmmmm, I'll take a whack at it.

1) Pins
2) Kindle, loaded
3) Snorkle gear
4) Wine -- definitely
5) Bottled water -- maybe
6) Extra batteries
7) Unwanted family members, sorry that just slipped out
8) Disney Rewards Card
9) Laundry stuff (bag and/or detergent packets)
10) Notebook for trip report notes. (Although this year, I used the Castaway Club notebook that was in our stateroom.)

I have been writing my trip report from memory and an occasional Navigator lookup. :)

Pirate costume ranks up there. By the way, do they have a Pirate night on the Dream's three day cruises? We're going on December 26th.

The others:
1. Pirate costume (duh?!)
2. Air freshener for that small bathroom
3. Flask of rum, to be even more piratey
4. Cinnamon, to spice up the mediocre free coffee on the upper deck
5. My statuette of Zintar, the mountain god, especially during the holiday season
6. Beat up sport coat to wear on formal night, which I then give to my cabin steward as an extra tip.
7. Handkerchiefs, for that mid-ocean bout of hayfever
8. My autographed photo of KC & the Sunshine Band. Don't leave home without it.
9. My autographed photo of Karl Malden. Don't leave home without that either.
10. Fake mustache and beard--to shake the CIA and KGB off my trail.

Yup, those're the essentials. I'm sure everybody pretty much brings these same things.

Great List Ralphlaw. Good tip about the helping the coffee. I love the "leaving the sport coat for the steward".

Yes, we had Pirate night on the Disney Dream.

Thanks for posting.

Ok, mine would be:

1) reading material (loved my kindle for that)
2) some kind of travel mug as the cups they have at the drink station are too small for me
3) lanyard for room key if this is your first cruise and you don't qualify for a free one (not needed if you are a dvc member) - never thought I would be a lanyard person, but found them very practical, especially made it easier to locate room key!
4) hat that sits tightly on your head so that wind can't blow it away too easily
5) tote bag to carry sunscreen, book, navigator etc. to the pool
6) my cruise line vinylmation (the only one I own and it was a gift, but it makes for cute decoration of the stateroom)
7) cheap waterproof watch to take to the pool with you

have to think if I can come up with 8 to 10...

Yes, I agree with the Kindle Bolna. Mine goes everywhere that I do. I have become a lanyard person over the last few Disney trips... they just make thing easier. Thanks for posting.

Great idea about the highlighter pens, I'm going to add this to my list. The old key to the world card for the lights... I've done that before. I've been wondering about and extra something to bring the stuff we purchase back... I'm trying to figure out how to do that and still only have carryon stuff. I don't want to check bags.

Thanks for posting.

Should add another, and that's ( excluding here) do not always trust people who post on internet forums, ie find out how many times they have actually cruised with DCL, a lot is just opinions, I have seen people post with authority and never been on that ship, or cruised on one DCL ship in 1994, and think their up to date, or comment on wine packages and never used them, or comment on the internet being poor and not been on the ship in question, so should be in the top ten, form your own opinion on the person posting and if they really know!!!!!

Agreed, thankfully I've been on three Disney cruises and definitely speak with authority, especially when it comes to the necessity of my KC & the Sunshine Band photo, and my statuette of Zintar, the mountain god. Indeed, no one should leave home without them.
