too crowded in August?

Hi everyone,
I am a die-hard WDW girl, but we're thinking of doing a trip to DL this summer. What I'm wondering is what the crowd levels are like each week in August. We simply don't want to go if it's going to be jam-packed (we will not go to WDW between mid-June and mid-August for this very reason). Can someone give me a rundown of what August looks like, week-by-week?

DLR has a different visitation pattern than WDW. The AP blackout calendar is probably the biggest factor when predicting when it is busiest. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/blockout-dates/
When the So Cal AP’s are unable to go, it is usually a good time for you to go. The blackout for locals is from late June to late August. If you plan to go in August, go before the AP’s are able to come back. If you do decide to come when So Cal AP’s are not blacked out, avoid Friday nights and Sunday’s at all costs.
It will be somewhat crowded no matter when you come. There is no true off season at DLR and the smaller walkways at DL make it seem more crowded than WDW at times. August is probably a pretty good month to go all things considered as long as you go in early August. Long hours of operation and it is less crowded in early August than say May or June.
August is typically the hottest month of the year in California and most of DLR’s queue’s are outside. Humidity is not an issue like Florida but it can still get warm, so prepare.
