Anyone know whether Disney has considered updating tomorrowland speedway with the theme of Pixar's Cars movie? Seems like that would make this attraction an even bigger hit with today's generation of kids.

Any type of update to the Indy Speedway should at least include some element of the future. Not sure "Cars" does that.

I think it would be cool. Haven't done tomorrow land speedway in years but I would line up in a minute to drive mater or doc. hudson.:sohappy:

A non-character Tomorrowland is a lost cause anyway, as is a Tomorrowland that is about... Tomorrow. I certainly hope the future isn't about multi-lane, bumper-to-bumper traffic. All of the Pixar characters seem to be based in present-day, so the Cars characters should fit in with the current theme... Whatever that is.

Could someone explain to me what Tomorrowland is all about anyway? Other than Space Mountain?

Could someone explain to me what Tomorrowland is all about ?

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them,
Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Oh, sorry, that's Christmas. Here's Tomorrowland:

It isn't easy keeping up with the future. For years Disney tried -- yet Tomorrrowland always stayed just a step behind; yesterday's version of tomorrow. So, now they've embraced the futures of the past, creating a sort of retro-tomorrow look that owes just as much to Buck Rogers and the great pulp Science Fiction illustrators of the 1930's and 1940's as it does to a serious view of what's ahead.

I originally was for this idea, but the more I thought about it, the less I really wanted the "Cars" cars at the speedway. Don't get me wrong, its not a bad movie, but I'd rather they do something more retro-future to match the rest of current Tomorrowland and finally switch to electric cars.

I quite like the idea of Cars. They need to make them electric and the 'Car's' theme seems to be a cheap(ish) alternative the petrol guzzaling unfuturistic cars. Its not like they can make them UFOs.

Wait, why not UFOs? That would be so ridiculous it just might work! Heck, I'd line up to drive a bright green UFO around a track. I think you're onto something here...

UFOs would be awesome! :ROFLOL:

The "Cars" franchise does not fit Tomorrowland at all. Putting such a theme over the Speedway would harm the land's theme just like MILF did.
