I was listening to a WDW Today podcast and they were talking about how they think Tommorowland really doesnt live up to its name anymore. I thought about this I kind of agree on this. There is nothing really to futuristic about it anymore. They have stitch now in Tommorowland which is not futuristic and now monsters inc. They shouldnt change the name of Tommorland but they should build something that has to do with the futur. maybe I'm missing something here but what does everyone think about this?

Tommorowland is becoming more of a movie themed park, than MGM! I totally agree with you! I mean, what does Monsters Inc. and Stitch have to do with the future? It's pretty stupid!

Well...when you really get down to it, the entire concept of tomorrowland was concieved before Epcot was built. Now there is an entire half of a park devoted to futuristic type rides that once may have been built in tomorrowland. I wish they would go in a more jules verne direction though like at the disney seas park in Tokyo, rather than a pixarification.:brick:

I'm not sure but it seems that there are far more traditionalist/preservationists in america than there are in disneyland paris tokyo and hong kong.

Why can't the american magic kingdoms have a tomorrowland that...if redone could incorporate various blended elements of both old and new tomorrowland in an architectual sense, but proclaim itself as a land that appreciates and shows the way the future has been seen throughout the ages.

With the magic kingdom themed more on whimsical and fantasy, why not let tomorrowland become a retro fun appreciation land that could have a Space Mountain a new alien encounter, peoplemover, astro orbiter like the one in WDW, and buzz lightyear and an autopia/speedway.

Allowing the CoP to either stay in tomorrowland as a 1964 retro historical society tribtue or move elsewhere.

Allowing all tomorrowlands in the magic kingdoms in europe and asia to become discoverylands with pixar and jules verne elements

Thus at both WDW and DL stitch and other things can be left to be created at other parks in those respective resorts.

yea, but thats what happens.. i rocked for me in the 80's when i was a kid
and in 1991 on my honey moon, and just last month, i still run to this part of the park 1st, prob cause its easy to get to, right after the icecream shop :)

but they got to NUKE stitch great escape soon, and stop using this character in promos, 1st it was less then average movie, 2nd his voice is annoying, id even take more annoying mickey voice!

i like buzz lightyear ride, when family's split up, oh what fun... course i just take the joystick and spinn, and annoy everyone in my ship :)

Space mountain, still is good, does need a major redo, wouldnt it be cool, if they could plop in paris's version overnight ?!!?!

Carosel of progress, i love it every time, so did my 14yr old, its enertaining!

Astro Orbiter, if u can wait in the slow moving lines, ride it at night!!

Tomorrowland Transit Authority, i dont know what to say about this.. magnets ok, good to take someone on who is afraid of space mountain...

Tomorrowland Speedway, this ofcourse never fit in tomarrowland since day one.. i havent rode this since 80s...

i always missed timekeeper when it was there, it was never open 4 me

i guess tomarrowland does need another "e-ticket" ride
but we could say that about MK in general

oh the room taken up by that speedway

my 2.5cents

I was a big fan of the 90's rennovation, when there was a single consitant fun science-fiction theme and story. EVERYTHING fit together as a unified "spaceport". They even worked CoP in as being presented by the Tommorowland MetroRetro Historical Society. I loved how they worked references to XS Technologies everywhere, even in SM's queue. All the characters worked well together; I could easily see the TimeKeeper existing in the same "Universe" as Chairman Clench (heck, i always figured he was built by XSTech).

But now, it just doesn't make any sense. Stitch is on another planet in the present day, but Buzz Lightyear is from the future? And he's not a toy... but, he IS a toy? And Monsters Incorporated is opening a comedy club in the human world? When and where are we supposed to be anymore? (i'm not entirely opposed to Monsters Inc in Tommorowland, as it really is a science fiction story at its core, but it just doesn't fit with anything else that's there)
