I post this only because I really admire how OLC and the Japanese in general do business. No American company anywhere would admit this kind of mistake, and even fewer companies would react as swiftly.

2. Preventing a Reoccurrence

Strengthen the management of product "best by" dates and product consumption dates at the food warehouse. We will set up a new inventory management system and also institute a double-check system by two persons in charge at the time products are dispatched.

Strengthen the management of product "best by" dates and product consumption dates at all restaurants. We will have a system of double-checking by the supervisor and the person in charge at the restaurant for all check work and of recording permanently all check work.

Strengthen the management of product "best by" dates and product consumption dates at times of rush dispatches. We will have a system of double-checking by the dispatcher and the person in charge at the restaurant.

As "best by" dates are set to provide more leeway than "consume by" dates, in general there is no harm to humans if products past their "best by" date are consumed. However, Oriental Land Co. wishes to sincerely apologize to the nine guests who were served the menu thereby causing them inconvenience. Guests who ordered the Caprese on the date and times noted above are requested to contact the Tokyo Disney Resort Guest Relations Center at 047-310-0733.
