Tokyo Disneyland Exchange Program?

As mentioned in another post, I have just returned from my vacation to Disney world. Aside from a bit of a headcold, it was a very enjoyable trip. While the parks seemed very crowded at times, the longest line I stood in was only about 30 minutes. So, I was able to make it through nearly all of the attractions in the four parks in three days (of course, I had to move at a stiff pace, forego many of the shops and didn't take time to "smell the roses"). On my next trip, I've decided to move at a much slower pace, explore all of the hidden niches and curiousities, and take in the ambience of the parks. Easier said than done... I'll probably walk through those gates, get anxious to see and do as much as I can, and shift into fifth gear!

Whoa... I got a little off topic there. Sorry!

On my last day in the Magic Kingdom (Febuary 24th), I noticed that there were many asian cast members wearing a ribbon that indicated that they represented Tokyo Disneyland. There were several "ambassadors" working on the Jungle Cruise and Space Mountain. Earlier today (February 25th), I stopped at Downtown Disney (Disney's Marketplace) and saw some more representatives of Tokyo Disneyland at the World of Disney store.

Is there some sort of exchange program going on? Is this part of the 50th anniversary celebration? I know that each of the parks is receiving a new attraction from one of the other Disney parks (e.g., Tokyo, Paris, Anaheim)... might they also be "receiving" some of their cast members? I didn't notice notice any castmembers with ribbons indicating that they represented Paris or Anaheim... but I really wasn't looking for them and they wouldn't have been as obvious.

I'll be curious to know if anyone knows anything about this...

those are actually Hong Kong Disneyland CM's that are training in WDW, not Tokyo Disneyland CM's

Oh...

Oops... another mistake.

Now that I think of it, their ribbons probably did say Hong Kong.

That's a pretty good idea to give these new castmembers some actual theme park experience. No doubt this will make the first few months go a lot smoother at Hong Kong Disneyland.

When is this park scheduled to open?
