Toadsourcing - Crowdsource a Mr. Toad ride?

Someone else mentioned an idea to crowdsource Horizons, though I think the mechanics of that idea are a bit too difficult...however Mr. Toad's Wild Ride would be different.

Now, let's just ignore the IP conflict issue for a moment and think about what it would take to build such a ride.

WDW's had 2 tracks, lots of 2 dimensional props, ultraviolet light, sound effects, moving bits and hell...literally.

Logistically I wonder how hard it would be to build one. I think finding an existing warehouse building somewhere, creating the track and vehicle's propulsion would be the difficult part, plus the effects working 'on cue'.

Thoughts?

Surely Toad shouldn't be beyond the means of a determined group of people?

I mean, fans are not going to replicate Big Thunder. But Toad must be doable! Buy a ride mechanism from a defunct park in Poland, saw a few cardboards, get a painter in there, and volia, you've got a Toad!

Awesome idea! :geek:

One sweater vest in mustard yellow, rough bumpy skin, but a lovable fellow.

A bartered stolen car, a winding, twisted road,

and then,

VOILA,

it's Mr. Toad!

Ive done set pieces before, I have no doubt the 2-D backgrounds and backdrops would be entirely feasible ...the ride system maybe not so much. You can always go ghetto style and make some kind of pulley system to drag a ride vehicle on wheels through... don't forget to buy some helmets to go with that system...

What if somebody decided to finish Virtual Toad and give it some sort of immersive rig like the Horizons Resurrected guy put together when showing it off at conventions?

Hell, mini-simulators next to mechanical "Put a Quarter In" horsie rides are apparently a thing now.

You could get one of those and repurpose it.
