So,
I can't recall your name...but on August 18th 2012 I met you in the Emporium. I was shopping with my (then) girlfriend and had just purposely lost her somewhere in the store and you showed up with my mother beaming from ear to ear... your words were "Hi, I'm your new best friend!" You then held up a big pair of shears and we got to work on this little secret my family had kept from my girlfriend...
Okay...here it is...I wanted to propose to my girlfriend at the Magic Kingdom during the grand finale of "Wishes". So, to get the engagement ring to Florida without my girlfriends knowledge, we sewed a little pouch to my mother's tank top strap under her t-shirt. The ring made it successfully through airport security, a flight from Indiana, Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, Rockin' Rollercoaster, and several other events...my mom knew it was about time for the fireworks and for the big question...so, she finds her way to the City Hall and asks this guy the oddest question..."Do you have a pair of scissors?" My mom explained and this guy like flew into action!
I took my girlfriend into the Emporium and while she was shopping I met my mother with this really nice cast member...they guy was exceptionally and genuinely friendly and after a week surviving my family in the August heat at WDW he was a welcome face! So yeah...he smiles, says hello, shakes my hand and declares that he's my new best friend...he then hands my mom the shears and the three of us free and inspect the ring and place it in the Zales box (secretly hidden in a WDW shopping bag)...the guy offers to have us married at the town hall...to which we politely decline...he shook our hands (good firm, honest hand shake!)...wished me luck and then disappeared back into the atmosphere of Main Street USA...
I proposed and at last we were married a year and a half later and we returned for our honeymoon/Christmas...
I'll never forget how genuine and kind this guy was! So, if you ever read this and remember August of 2012...thank you! Your dedication and generosity really did make all the difference! God knows how we'd have gotten that ring out without your help!
