To all the complainers about Epcot....

I hate the wand and wish they would get rid of it.

I also hope Nemo themes are added to the Living Seas in order to get more people and especially younger children into the pavillion.

Now I do miss Horizons and World of Motion, but TT and MS are great additions. I was blown away by the technology and feel that it will only help the park. I wish all 4 could still be there today, but that's not the way things work out. From what I heard the Horizons building was beginning to not be very safe, so it was probably inevitable for it to be demolished. I dont' think TT and MS are ruining Epcot, Epcot will always be changing. 20 years from now something new will have been replaced with something else.

I hope Spaceship Earth does not change because it is the only Omnimover left at Epcot, and SSE is one of the last items that remind us of Epcot's past. Horizons was starting to seem "dated", but I don't think that will happen so much to SSE because alot of the attraction deals with the past, which can't change. The only things that will need updating are the last scenes which show today/tomorrow. So hopefully SE remains the same, mainly because it's the icon of the park.

SOMEONE tell me how on earth that ties in with the rest of the park!? -once again i LOVE test track, but hate it in this sense. IMO WOM served the correct purpose; an entire pavillion about everything that is transportation... that theme is now lost.:(

It took a lot of guts to say that - especially because of your avatar. I must agree, though. :(

Put Test Track in the MK Parking Lot - - like the speedway!

As far as the wand goes, i'm not a fan. I was told that when it was time to take down the "2000" it was much cheaper to just slap on something else in its placed, than disassemble the entire structure. So far i would guess that guest complaints haven't been so severe that Disney feels the pressure to finally spend that money and dismantle it. But the way i see it, its like getting your pictures back from a vacation and there's some jerk in one of your pictures that didn't belong there.

WOM->TT: Its funny how you don't see anyone mourning WOM as they do Horizons, more on this later. This(TT) is a purely money-driven pavilion. It might as well be in the parking lot of GM's headquarters. Prior to the fast pass, this ride really left much to be desired considering the long lines and having to listen to that pounder drop 100 times lol....

Horizons->Mission Space: I liked Horizons, it was fun, i didn't love Horizons, and when it was gone forever my affection for it didn't grow like it seems to have for many. Its the Janis Joplin, the Jim Morrison of attractions. It took on a life of its own, popularity-wise, after its demise. I haven't been back to WDW since Mission Space opened so i don't think i'll comment until i have.

the wand needs to go, no doubt about it. as others have said, it was great for 2000, but not forever. additions for celebrations should be left as additions for celebrations, and should be taken away when the celebrations are over. jmo.

i ADORE TT. it's definately a must see every time i visit!
i'm too chicken to ride MS, though. but i really do miss the Horizons building...it was a little dated, but it was still so beautiful! like a grandmother, you know? aged, but still beautiful.

I'm usually not for major rehabs, but in the case of LS, i think it's needed. i'm one of the most hard-headed, nostalgic people you'll probably ever run in to, but LS is really starting to get boring to me. i think it's time to add a little color to the place!

i think you're right, some of us are being contradictory...but this is a contradictory situation, imo. i think most of us agree that most of Epcot needs updating. but i think some of us think that Disney isn't doing a good job of updating, and are just throwing in thrill rides to pacify younger guests (and older ones too). some think that Disney is building these attractions 'on the cheap' to make a buck.
but i think a lot of us have the most problems in the endangered species known as Animatronics. Horizons and WoM were packed with these creatures, but as everyone knows, TT and MS have very few, if any at all. and now with other attractions featuring Animatronics being threatened (such as SSE, and possibly UoE), it's only making the situation worse.
and think all of us agree that change isn't nessasarily needed, but PROGRESS certinaly IS! change something to make it better, not because you need more attendance. attendance will come with progress.
