I am currently using CADKey which is the first CAD program I learned. I am wondering if you think I should go ahead and get AutoCAD. I am going into Civil Engineering next year in college and I assume that it would only benefit me.

Thanks.

Re AutoCad

Hey Imagineer,

Remember me? Anyways, in regards to AutoCad, i am running 2000, and Have used R13, 14, and 2002. They are all excellent and very useful. Now I have been mostly architecture and industrial engineering, but I tell you it is awesome for engineering. I am told it can be programmed to do stress load calculations, all kinds of details..I mean it is endless. Right now I am doing my elevation of my new monorail cars aon Autocad and it is nice. I am getting as doing the lettering in the bottom of the cars and the door release buttons. It is amazing, so I recommend it. Let me know for more. And later on, expect my new Transportation Center in 3-D from combined efforts of SutoCad and 3D Studio Max. I love computers they help make magic. But I always live by a motto I learned....design in paper, a napkin, whatever you find, they use AutoCad....so with that said, let me know. :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Thanks!!

Civil Engineering & Industrial Architecture/Engineering is exactly what I want to use it for. The best thing about it is that I am a student and I get it cheap! CADKey retail price is close to $2,000 and I got it for $150!!!!

Thanks again for the help and I'll let you know what I decide to do.
