Tips for traveling with an Infant.

Think for yourselfer
Hiii Everybuddy!!!

Ill be traveling to WDW with a (giant) 7 month old this fall. I'm no punk amateur either, but this is my first trip with the little guy. So a couple questions for the group...

1. Do I NEED to rent a car? I never have before, but I've also never had to bring a baby on a bus. Is it an ok thing to do? Or am I a bad parent?

2. I'm thinking about using a stroller rental facility, good idea?

3. How long will CMs watch your baby before they get all lazy and "call the cops"?

That's all I can think of right now. But I am taking any and all advice, so have at it.

1. Disney bus? No way. Orlando Metro Lynx bus? Absolutely. People will even watch your baby if you need to get off the bus.

2.7 month old? You're going to need a double stroller. Two, to be honest. One for the baby and one for the baby's stuff.

3. Depend on how long it takes the CM to realize they are watching your baby...

1.It's fine to bring the baby on the bus. Get a car for convenience if you want, because waiting in the heat/rain/crowd with a crying baby is no fun, but bringing baby on bus is fine.

2. Bring your own stroller.

3. Depends how much you are paying them.

1. You need to hire a limo and hove no less that three nannies on hand at all times. Anything less will cause your child to grow up to be mass murderer or possibly the guy that sells knives on the Home Shopping Network.
Buses are fine. At that age I would recommend having a stroller with that a car seat will clip into. Mom or the rug rat in the car seat and dad can fold up the stroller. If you don't have a stroller like that that you can bring, get one or rent one.
2. You must use a sling made from unbleached, organic, non-GMO, free range, fair trade cotton. Your child will suffer unmitigated psychological damage if he/she is not firmly pressed up against your body from birth until middle school.
see spoiler above, but the slings or the carriers where your baby is on your chest are great
3. It depends on how cute and quiet they are. If you have a real nice looking well mannered child you can get away with about 2 hours or until the diaper gets filled of free child from most CM's. If you have one of those weird looking kids that cries a lot, the CMs will dial 911 if you get more than a few feet away from your child.

I see everyone is giving you conflicting advice! It's just like every parenting conversation ever!

1) I would have no problems in taking a child on a Disney bus, but I would be extra careful of the other people on the bus and their swinging arms and stuff. That being said, I had a much better experience with a car (my own, not a rental admittedly) because of the pain in the neck I have handling the kid, the kid stuff, the merch ... On a packed Disney bus. Paying resort guests get free parking anywhere in WDW, parks included, which I am happy to take advantage of.

2) I've been very happy with stroller rental, because airlines have broken out own personal stroller on a trip before. The airport can be a pain, but much better than landing to a broken stroller IMO.

3) depends on how lazy and distracted the CM is, but 15 minutes tops.

1) No - bus is fine (as long as you have help to juggle the baby, the stroller, all your bags etc as you get on / off the bus)
2) No - If you bring your own you know exactly how much other stuff you can carry on it / underneath it
3) Not that long - unless you bribe them properly

1. The bus is fine, but I would use a rental car if it is in the budget. It makes quick trips to the store for things like diapers and medicine (large bottles of bourbon) a lot easier.
2. I would recommend a rolling suitcase. It is easier to get around with and you will blend in with the growing number of geniuses who I saw with them this last trip.
3. If you go with my suggestion of a rolling suitcase, you can go quite a while as long as the baby is quiet.

Baby inside or balanced on top of the suitcase?

If inside, flap open or closed?
