Tipping

What is up with all these articles online about tipping?

Some people are cheap. Some people don't tip because the service is horrible or got wine spilled over them . Why do waiters and waitresses have to go online to grip about it? I understand some of them get paid less than minimum wage but still. People sense of entitlement baffles my mine sometimes.

I think it's because they only make 4 and change an hour. It's hard to make a living on that. I don't understand the logistics of why restaurants don't have to pay their employees the same minimum wage as other professions.

All servers make minimum wage at least through tip credits. If their pay+tips does not equal minimum wage, the employer is required to pay them to cover the gap.

And since this is a WDW forum... Florida requires they pay at least $4.91 base, allowing a maximum tip credit of $3.02.

Wow.
The minimum wage for liquor servers in Ontario is $9.55 vs. the general minimum wage of $11.00.
