Timing of celebrating in the parks

We are heading to Disney in 2020. During our trip our kiddo will turn 15 so obviously we are celebrating her birthday. Additionally, though, we are paying for my folks to come with us as a present for their 50th anniversary. Is it "false advertising" or something to say we are celebrating their anniversary even though it isn't until November (and we will be there in January)? I'd love for them to get special attention while we're there, but don't want anyone to say we're abusing the celebration pins or something. Sorry if this sounds stupid but I have no idea how any of this works, as we haven't been to Disney in 20 years.

If your booking for that occasion then no. go for it!

im pretty sure 90% of the people with a birthday badge on it is probably not their birthday.
Some people wear badges for a whole week.

Not at all. It is their anniversary trip- you are celebrating all year! That is very thoughtful of you- hope our kids are as sweet for our 50th. Have fun!

Since you haven't been in quite a while, I'd suggest you read up on the transportation options, how Fastpass works, refurbishment schedule (it is a sad thing to find the ride you've been looking forward to is closed for a refurb), and what each park offers in rides and entertainment, etc. Fastpass has really changed the dynamics of visiting WDW- being unprepared can impact a visit.

i was there for my birthday last year, i wore it a few days before, and a few days after. Were going for our 10 year anniversary this year, our anniversary is 2 days before we arrive, but we will still wear the buttons :)

Lots of people go to WDW to celebrate many different things. Because they might not be able to book a vacation exactly on the day of an event, they go when they cvan and include that celebration at that time. Disney doesnt care if your dates line up eactly during your trip... youre there celebrating then. So go ahead and plan to celebrate it in the best way, at Disney. Of course there are people who do get extra magic when they are celebrating and the CM's notice... but its at their discretion. Dont assume you will be getting something extra out of them, if it happens, then great. When you get the anniversary pin the CM might dress it up with a marker to make it stand out from the ordinary ones. Some CM's will strike up a conversation when they see the uniqueness of it being their 50th anniversary and pay extra attention to them.

Our anniversary is in August, but we celebrated with a trip in January. And we have the pins to prove it 😁. It was great! As long as the special date you are celebrating is within 183 days of when you visit (either before or after), you are allowed to celebrate. Enjoy!!!
see now this is an example of a major infraction. Etiquette says you have 180 days on either side. Going beyond will get you a 6 month park ban per day infringed, and a permanent ban on your second infraction. You may as well be using an ECV after hip surgery when you could possibly get by with a walker... SHAME!!!!!

This is a disgrace, clearly this is false advertising and you should be ashamed of yourself and those who participate in such deceiving acts should also feel this shame. Shame, shame, shame. This is unacceptable, and I think that not only a ban from the parks is needed, but from anything Disney including forums, products, movies and even thinking anything Disney.

Oh...Wait...scratch that, we did this for my graduation from college and our 30th anniversary.

So in all these trips I've made in September, i could have "celebrated" my birthday, despite it occurring in August?

I have a lot of celebrating to catch up on during my next trip then! :p
