We arrive at WDW in 29 days (not that I'm counting). We are flying in from the UK which means it'll be around 9pm uk time when we get to WDW and only 4pm florida time. My 4 year old would normally be in bed at 9pm but the last thing I want is him to sleep at 4/5pm!!! Anyone experienced this and got any hints?? Or will the magic of being at WDW kick in a keep the tiredness at bay for a while longer???
Thanks xx

I think the excitement will help...I'd expect an earlier bedtime us time but I personally wouldn't try to push it to match your UK one. I'd maybe push a 7pm US one if possible.

Yeah I was looking at around 7pm US time as an acceptable bedtime! I'll probably be ready for bed by then too!!! Fingers crossed as a 4/5pm sleep would be awful!!!

When my little girl was small she always slept on the plane as we had to get up so early for the flight. I always let her sleep for as long as possible & when we arrived at resort she was always as fresh as a daisy & itching to get to MK. Excitement pulls them through.

Normally he's the same as usually we have an 03:30 get up for a 6am flight but this year flying from Manchester at 10:55 and only live in liverpool so won't have to leave until 7am. Hoping the excitement will take it's toll and he will snooze on the plane and that'll see him through!!!

When we went in December, my little boy had a sleep on the plane (just over an hour) on the way there. He then kept going when we landed (around 3.30pm Florida time) and through immigration no problem. We had a massive wait for our cases though so by the time we got them, out of the airport and to the resort, it was around 6pm. He was starting to nod off on the way to the resort so we let him have a 10 minute snooze. Once we arrived, we got something to eat & he had a bath and was in bed asleep by 8pm. Although he was up early the next morning, he adjusted pretty well to the time difference. He would fall asleep in his pushchair for a little bit when we were at the parks just after lunchtime most days, then kept going until 8/9pm no problem.

I'm not from the UK, but it's a similar time difference out to Hawaii from the East Coast, so I've experiences it. The light keeps everyone awake even though it's late. Best thing to do is stay up, including your little one, no matter how tired they are, and you'll all be right on Florida time. And yes, the excitement will help.

I guess snoozing on the plane depends on your kid. I slept on the way out to Hawaii but my younger brother only slept for about an hour and was back up.
