Tiki Room Reopening

Does anyone know when the Tiki Room will reopen, my daugther loves it, but she will really love the orginal version. We will be down in 120 days.:sohappy:

I heard from a decent source a few months ago that the timeframe was very flexible and that he said that it wouldn't be a shock if it was delayed until September or even early October. Which make sense if there going to promote the hell out of it for the 40th.

The first time I went to the show was 1983, left before it was over and never returned. Those birds are way to annoying for me.

I hear ya. They can keep it closed forever, as far as I'm concerned. I've seen the original over at Disneyland and it sucks:hurl:. I'm sure it was quite clever and cutting edge when it openned - but in this generation, it's in need of serious help. The UNM version gave it the boost it needed. My kids loved it and I thought it was much more entertaining and even funny. With the original version coming back, the only way I'll see it is if I've done everything else at the Magic Kingdom AND I'm just getting off the Carpet Rides AND there's absolutley no line AND the show's starting just as we walk up.

i bet you can't wait for the day when they move the blimpless dream .... thing... from mouse gears. then you can start getting all excited. i never saw the original but i'm guessing it's a hell of a lot better than what they have now.
however, although i think the original characters would be good (sorry eric idle!) i think they should snazz it up a bit with a new story and stuff.
it's all very well putting everything back to how it used to be, but people have seen that before, and i'm hoping they do the same with the tiki room. i saw the original when i was little, i don't remember much about it, but anything must be better than poorly voiced zazu (could they really not get rowan atkinson back to do one ride voice over?) and iago. and hopefully we get to hear the entirety of 'iiin the tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki roooom'
it's always the first thing i notice about a character they they've tried to re create animatronically or in cartoon and failed to get the original actor. like the genie at lazer quest. that was sooo not robin williams.
