Tiger Woods to host junior golf clinic on property next month
Date: 05/03/2002

The Tiger Woods Foundation announced recently that professional golf star Tiger Woods will host the 2002 Coca-Cola/Tiger Woods Foundation Junior Golf Clinic from June 17-19 at the Walt Disney World Resort.

The event, which is closed to Cast Members and guests, will feature children selected from inner-city junior golf programs from Buffalo, N.Y.; Fort Worth, Tex.; Newark, N.J.; Philadelphia; and Orlando.

This year's event will be the second held at the Walt Disney World Resort. The foundation conducted its first junior golf clinic on March 16, 1997, at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

"We are thrilled to be holding our 25th junior golf clinic this year," said Central Florida resident Tiger Woods, who established the Tiger Woods Foundation to empower young people to reach their highest potential. "They are always a lot of fun to put on, and are one of the best ways for our foundation to reach out to kids and give back to the community."

Walt Disney World President Al Weiss said the Walt Disney World Resort is an ideal setting for the event.

"Interacting with the world's most exciting golfer at our championship courses and having the chance to enjoy the Walt Disney World theme parks will create the experiences of a lifetime for these kids," Al said.
