Tiger River Rapid

I have a question for all of you . I heard that Disney never used the name for Kali River Rapids but I seem to remember was first visit To Animal Kingdom in September of 1999 it was called Tiger River Rapids or am I mistaken . Anyone else remember them using this name for a short time?

So I never saw it named such - but my mom has a t-shirt from way back in the day that says “tigger river rapids” with tigger and Pooh on it - it’s not branded as animal kingdom merch - but it wouldn’t make sense that Disney made that shirt randomly.

You are not mistaken. Yes it was originally to be called Tiger River Rapids but it was changed because guests would not see Tigers on the river route. Imagineers did not want guests thinking the river would take them through an area filled with tigers and be disappointed so the name had to be altered.
