Ticket Questions

I am taking a quick trip down to Walt Disney World later this month. I have one day left on a 10-day Magic Your Way ticket (with no expiration, theme parks & more, and parkhopper options). We will be going to the Magic Kingdom on my sister's birthday; as a result, she will get into the park for free. However, she will not be able to hop from park to park (without paying the difference between a single park and a park hopper ticket).

So, here are my questions:

Should I use my last remaining day on my Magic Your Way ticket? Or should I save the park hopper passs... and just buy a a one day, one park ticket?

Where do we go to get the free ticket for my sister (via the What Will You Celebrate promotion)? Can we secure the ticket ahead of time or do we have to go and do it that morning (i.e., can we do it the day before her birthday so we can go right to the park on her birthday)?

Lastly, my dad is a resident of Florida. Can he purchase a one day ticket for me using his Florida Resident Discount? Or, will this not work?

Thanks,
Plane Crazy

A one-day park ticket is the most expensive possible way to enter a park. If you have one day left on a ten-day, use it. Keep the ticket afterward if there are still water park and more admissions left.

For the birthday ticket, you have to register at their website. It says you bring the paperwork on your birthday, so I suspect you can't get it the day before. It shouldn't take very long at all to do the exchange though.

You have to be a Florida Resident yourself to use a Florida Resident ticket.

I guess you only get the pretty registration certificate if you live in Canada or the US.

Of course, even with the certificate, I still have to take ID... I guess they're making your life easier than mine!

As MontyMon said, your father cannot purchase FL Resident tickets for others who aren't FL Residents.

But one thing to note, if your father is going with the group and wants to purchase his own 1-day ticket at the discounted FL Resident rate, he *must* purchase it in advance, either online or over the phone.

He can save on shipping and have it held for pick-up at the Will Call window (where you'll have to go anyway for your sister's Birthday Ticket), but it has to be pre-purchased. You cannot buy a 1-day FL Resident ticket at the parks.
