Ticket question

I want to buy a ticket for my 9 y/o daughter so we can make FPs for our trip at the end of March. She will be 10 when we are on our trip. If I purchase an adult ticket will it allow me to assign it to her on the app even though she's only 9 now?

Does she turn 10 before or after you check in? If its before, then you need to buy her an adult ticket. If it's after (she has her birthday during your stay there) then you can buy a child's ticket. People don't age at WDW. Not kidding

So just a little update to help anyone who might experience the same thing. I bought two adult tickets and tried to assign one to my 9 yo daughter's profile. As I feared it wouldn't let me me assign it to her because of the age issue. After calling Disney they said I could only assign it to her once she turned 10 which means I couldn't get FPs for her at 60+10 days for our reservation.
My workaround, without telling Disney, was that I went in and changed the birthday on her profile to show that she's 10 already and then I'll try to change it back to her real birthday after she turns 10. We'll see how that goes.

She turns 10 before we get to WDW but after our 60 day window starts to make FPs.

Honestly, it's ridiculous that they didn't anticipate this sort of thing. It shouldn't be that convoluted.

My advice would have been exactly what you did...change the birthday! Its not like they check!?
AND...if she turns 10 before you get to WDW, but after the 60 day window starts for FPs...I would just tell a little white lie. I'm sure Disney, if they questioned it, would understand why you did it! I would do the same thing!

Our daughter was 10 on one of our trips a while back. She looks young for her age, and we told her if anyone asked while she was ordering dinner that on this particular trip she was 9! haha

I was in this same situation a while back but I don't recall having any issues assigning the adult ticket to my child who would be 10 years old at trip time. I did, however, have an issue with an cast member trying to make a reservation for the afternoon safari and dinner at the AKL because my daughter's 8th birthday hadn't yet come and gone. I kept saying to the person: So you can clearly see her birthday in the system? Yes. So then you can see that she will be 8 years old next month? Yes. So if she will be 8 years old next month, that means she will already be 8 years old several months from now when our trip is scheduled. Yes, but she isn't 8 yet. :banghead::banghead::banghead: It took awhile, but he finally understood.
